Roles and Responsibilities

• In consultation with the AWRI Scientific Director develop and recommend a process for scientific review and evaluation of strategic research programs.
• Conduct scientific peer review of strategic research programs to evaluate and rank the scientific merit of proposals.
• In conjunction with the AWRI Scientific Director, determine which initiatives may require external peer review from members of the scientific community beyond the expertise and/or availability of the members of IRAC.
• Attend an annual meeting to receive reports from research teams carrying out scientific research programs with the AWRI and provide any scientific comment relevant to those reports to the MAB.
• As required, provide scientific advice relative to key or priority research issues of important to meeting the objectives of the AWRI.
