Roles and Responsibilities

• The MAB oversees the strategic and research direction, scientific peer review processes and operational procedures of the Alberta Water Research Institute.
• Develop processes and activities to consult with key water stakeholders in Alberta.
• Approve and update the AWRI Strategic Business Plan and any changes thereto.
• Approve annual budgets for the AWRI and recommend them to the Board of Trustees of the Alberta Ingenuity Fund.
• Develop and approve programs designed to meet the objectives of the AWRI.
• Develop and adopt processes for scientific peer review.
• Approve projects for funding.
• Report annually on the operations of the AWRI and how its activities address the goals and outcomes of Water for Life.
